With the recent announcement from Microsoft that support for Windows XP Pro and Office 2003 will end in April 2014 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/endofsupport.aspx), now is the time for small businesses stlll using these platforms to consider the future.

Organizations reluctant to upgrade for various reasons need to weigh these four risks of remaining on XP Pro and/or Office 2003:  1) end of support and patches could make these machines vulnerable to attack 2) even devices not connected to the public internet risk infection from other devices on a private network 3) applications running on XP will no longer be supported and 4) lack of support will mean more work for IT providers and more bills for those clients paying for support by the hour.  The bottom line is moving to Windows 7/8 and Office 2013 will make reduce your organization’s risk and improve the productivity of your employees.
